Fiesole is a very small town – a tuscan jewel – just 4,3 miles away (really close!) from Florence, Tuscany. It’s like a room with a view on Florence…
Fiesole was founded by the Etruscans and then merged with the Roman civilization of which numerous vestiges are still preserved.
The world famous renaissance inventor and painter Leonardo da Vinci (author of “La Gioconda”) had a vineyard here in the 16th century and from the hill of monte ceceri the first human flight took place.
